Alive Church

Our Purpose...

ALIVE Church (formerly known as Wesleyan Community Church) is purposed on seeing a movement of disciple-making, leader-raising, and church-multiplying unleashed to reach the global mission field of Chicagoland and beyond. (A Movement of Multiplication - Acts 1:8)

Our Vision...

… is to see a movement of lives Chasing God, Loving People, and Reaching Chicagoland with the LIFE of Christ.
(Living out the Great Commandment - Mark 12:30-31; Acts 2:42-47)

We believe that will look like reaching 300 people in the coming year and a new church being initiated in a surrounding zip code.

Our Mission...

...helping people find, follow, and multiply the LIFE of Christ throughout Chicagoland and beyond.
(Carrying out the Great Commission – Matthew 28:19-20; John 20:21)

The focus of our mission is to daily live lives driven by the desire to...

Surrender to God (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20)
Live His Way (Romans 12:1; John 14:21)

Know the Word (Joshua 1:8; 2 Timothy 3:16)
Depend on Prayer (John 15:7; Philippians 4:6-7)

Sharpen One Another (Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 John 1:3)
Serve His Cause (Mark 10:45; 2 Corinthians 4:5)

About Our Lead Pastor...

Dr Phil Struckmeyer is from Lowell, Michigan where he has lived with his wife Andrea and three kids, Drew, Nick and Emily for the past 17 years. Phil and Andrea were high school teachers before Phil became the Director of Student Ministry for First Wesleyan Church in Battle Creek, Michigan. After four years of ministry in Battle Creek, Phil and Andrea went to plant a new church, IMPACT, in Lowell in the Fall of 2003. Impact started with a vision to plant three churches in five years and ten in ten. After nine years Impact had planted 9 daughter and granddaughter churches while growing to become a body of 1,000+ lives. Phil then became the Director of Church Multiplication for the Wesleyan Church and developed the church planting network, known as Nitrogen, to help further a movement of multiplication throughout The Wesleyan Church denomination across North America. Before coming to Oak Lawn, Phil spent three years investing in urban church planting in Grand Rapids, MI, a part of the Edge Urban Church located in an at-risk, disadvantaged neighborhood.

Outside of ministry Phil and his family enjoy spending time together, going to Disney World, and living life to the fullest in pursuit of becoming the "Struckmeyers" God is calling them to be.
